Early Childhood Development organization (ECDO), is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) with a registration number 048. It is located in Gulu town along Juba road opposite Gulu Primary School. It was established in the year 2010 by a group of professional volunteers who are passionate about the plight of vulnerable children and their household members who live both in rural and urban settlements, especially children whose physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development are not being catered for due to the fact that these households are greatly affected by socio-economic and political factors. ECDO is registered and has so far operated in the two districts of Gulu and Amuru and implemented two different projects on:
1. Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Amuru.
2. Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and skills training in Gulu City.
To deliver quality ECD services and practives, hold campaigns on HIV/AIDS prevention, Treatment, Care and positive. To advocate for girls' education; To prevent, reduce/end child marriage; To ehance gender equality; To improve on the economic status of women and youth marriage; To enhance quality of nursery teachers/caregivers; and health, sanitation, nutrition facilities in the ECD Centres/Primary schools in Northern Uganda.
